The Reading With Purpose series is designed to complement a language program through the use of interesting themes and activities. The series aims to encourage students to think beyond application, knowledge and understanding through creating, analysing, synthesising and evaluating information.

Reading With Purpose: If Animals Could Talk contains a series of ten animal themes. The plight of well-known and some lesser-known animals form the basis for each theme. Each text is presented from the animal’s view point and each story comes with a twist! Students will learn about the migration habits of the short-tailed shearwater, a day in the life of a newborn giraffe, the Emperor penguin breeding techniques and the job of the lion king – all in a very unique fashion.
