The Striving To Improve Series targets students who, for whatever reason, are struggling to keep up with their peers. The activities in the books are designed to prevent students from regressing any further at school. The tasks are based on a modified curriculum so that students can work at their own pace and without constant supervision from the teacher.

The children who you teach may be struggling with their school work because they have been diagnosed with learning difficulties such as ADHD or dyslexia. They may be struggling because of social factors which have resulted in them missing a lot of school. Whatever the reason, this book, Writing Book 2, will help students begin to write more clearly, accurately and confidently.

Activities in this book link to the curriculum for Years 5 and 6, so children feel that what is being asked of them is actually achievable. To make the tasks more manageable, they have been broken down into small parts which gives each student the opportunity to process one idea at a time. Time limits have been either abandoned or made flexible for students so success becomes a habit rather than a rarity.

Easy English Series Book 8: Easy Editing and Proof Reading is the final book in the series and aims to improve educational outcomes for indigenous and ESL students. It inspires students to practise careful reading and writing by highlighting the importance of drafting, editing and proofreading written work. The students are asked to identify a number of errors in short sentences and in longer texts and are encouraged to rewrite the texts correctly.

The longer texts help students to remember the ten text types and their specific features that they met in Easy Text Types and More Easy Text Types. The solutions for these activities are provided at the back of the book.

Easy English Series Book 7: More Easy Text Types is the seventh book in the series and aims to improve educational outcomes for indigenous and ESL students. It continues to develop the idea, initially introduced in Easy Text Types, that there are different types of texts. The students are encouraged to read and become familiar with the features of explanation, descriptions, expositions, discussions and poems.

All of the sample text types in this book are beautifully illustrated and simply presented to inspire students to begin to plan, write and edit their own text types with enthusiasm and confidence. The activities in the book are outcome linked and some are created to help students revise the grammar and punctuation that they have learned in Easy Punctuation and Easy Grammar.

Easy English Series Book 5: Easy Grammar is the fifth book in the series and aims to improve educational outcomes for indigenous and ESL students. It encourages students to become familiar with everyday grammar, such as articles, nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, pronouns, prepositions, determiners and connectors.

The book provides students with clear and uncomplicated definitions of each grammatical term and models how each one is used in basic written texts. Charming illustrations entice students to engage with the information and activities which are outcome linked. The book is designed to motivate students to write with care and confidence. The solutions for these activities are provided at the back of the book.
