The sections in <strong>World Disasters 3: Man-made Disasters</strong> contain research activities about space disasters such as the Challenger explosion, air disasters such as the Hindenburg tragedy, chemical disasters such as Bhopal and the Exxon-Valdez oil spill, nuclear disasters such as that of Chernobyl, road, rail and bridge disasters and sporting disasters. It also includes research activities about the background and impact of many of these disasters as well as the historical facts. Background information and web site addresses have been included to provide students with a starting point for their research.</p>
